Morning Suits

At The Cotswold Tailor, we want to offer hire-wear suits with a difference. It is our firm belief that our hire suits, should be of such high quality that you wouldn't be able to tell if the suit was hired or purchased. In fact we believe in our quality so much that every suit we offer for hire we also offer for purchase.

No more so is this true than in our Royal Ascot Morning Suit Range. Our carefully designed range of traditional morning suits, are tailored using British Dugdales Fabric, trimmed with horn buttons, full surgeon working cuffs and tailored by a British Tailoring Company. These really are some of the best morning suits available to hire in the country.

Ascot Royal Enclosure Dress Code

Gentlemen are required to wear either grey, black or navy morning dress inside the Royal Enclosure, this must include:

  • Waistcoat and tie (ties can be ‘playful’ but no cravats)
  • Black or grey top hat
  • Black shoes, worn with socks

Gentlemen may remove their top hat when inside a Royal Ascot hospitality restaurant, a private club, a private box or that facility’s terrace, balcony or garden. Hats may also be removed within an enclosed external area inside the Royal Enclosure Garden. The customisation of top hats inside the Royal Enclosure is not permitted.

Top Hats

To accompany our morning suits, we offer top hat hire. For centuries, the top hat has been a mark of distinguishment and class among discerning gentlemen, synonymous with Royal Ascot.

Just like our luxury morning suits, we want our clients to experience the best in British craftsmanship. Each one of our Lock & Co Top Hats, has been crafted from stiffened rabbit felt, trimmed with grosgrain along the brim, and finished with a wool felt band. The crown is 2.5cm taller than its relative the town shell. Each topper is fully lined and with a leather inner headband.
